The goal of my PhD project is to study the distribution of material after asteroid impacts. This will be done via computer simulations with the iSALE hydrocode, which I will further modify during my work. I have been interested in the analysis of physical problems with computational methods since my bachelor studies, and simulations have already played a central role in both my bachelor and master thesis in physics at the Universität Duisburg-Essen. I am also fascinated by astrophysics and planetology and am happy to have a chance to combine my interests in this project.
